Coimbatore Corporation secures first prize in India’s Smart Cities Award Contest 2022. The India Smart Cities Award Contest (ISAC) is a significant initiative organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs as part of the Smart Cities Mission.<\/p>\n

Smart Cities Mission launched on 25 June 2015 and is aimed at providing core infrastructure, clean and sustainable environment and a decent quality of life to their citizens through the application of \u2018smart solutions\u2019. It is a transformational mission aimed to bring about a paradigm shift in the practice of urban development in the country.<\/p>\n

The ISAC recognizes pioneering city strategies, projects and ideas to reward the exemplary performance and disseminate best practices. In this regard, Coimbatore won Best city award in South zone and top spot in ISAC Awards under the Built environment category for the Model Roads, Restoration and Rejuvenation of Lakes.<\/p>\n

Coimbatore Corporation received the recognition from Union housing and urban affairs ministry on the construction of first-of-its-kind Thiruvalluvar statue at Kurichi Lake using Tamil alphabets, the 11-metre-tall media tree at Race Course, Model Roads at RaceCourse & DB Road, and lakefront promenades.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
